In the region of Aš special nature sites worth seeing are preserved as natural monuments. On the basis of their importance in the european context the Bystřina brook near Trojmezí and Hranice and the Lužní potok brook flowing from the Preservation area of Smrčiny have been declared natural monuments. One of the reasons of this step is also the occurence of pearl-oysters which can be found very rarely. Another natural monument ist the 250m long bared mound of quartz named Goethova skalka (Goethe's Rock). Near Hazlov there is a finding-place of the Egeran, a brown-red coloured mineral with a content of gold and iron and the world unique needle forming crystals. In the area spring many mineral wells, the wells in Dolní Paseky and in Doubrava were grasped and are accessible to the public. The well in Dolní Paseky is the most important one in this area. The water from this well has a good taste and is recommended as table water. The radioactivity grade of this water is comparable to the radioactivity grade of the mineral water from Bad Brambach in Germany.
